ALL ABOUT US

In 2018 after many frustrating years of being unable to find an all female spring team for my daughter to play on, I decided to build my own.  My daughter picked the name, we got a logo made, and I went to work finding like minded families.  In 2019 the first Her-ricanes team (U12) hit the ice and it was a beautiful thing to behold.  18 young and talented ladies hit the ice for the inaugural season not fully knowing what to expect.  They went on to play 3 tournaments with much success and a stunning Bronze medal in Edmonton.  Along the way there were many laughs and strong friendships made.  By providing these young ladies with a place to play and grow with like minded girls the joy and their passion for this amazing sport flourished for these young players.

For someone as passionate about hockey as I am, there is nothing better then watching your child follow their passion with kids who are just like them.  This is what the Her-ricanes are all about.  Strong girls being allowed to blossom in their sport as athletes!  I will work each season to find strong outside coaching for the girls with the intention of adding female coaches.  By doing this I will give our girls the opportunity to be coached by leaders who can relate to playing hockey as a girl, demonstrate what is possible and share stories from their hockey careers.
